Roadtrip 2023 Spring: Seaside - Waldport - Bend - Rock Creek Schoolhouse - Richland

Day 19 - Secret Beach North

The Team returns to the Secret Beach Access Point. Today, we go North.

I see a bird - of course I do.

We immediately find fossils of Sentinels. This end of Secret Beach must have been the site of a large battle.

Further down, we find the lush lawns used by Coastal Oregonians for their local sport, Crab Bowling.

Pac Man takes a whack at beach games.

This sand chicken does a shoulder check - ya'll never know what's coming up behind you.

A massive Seawump watches us pass warily. Best not to disturb Seawumps.

Massive green/brown heirloom tomatoes wash up on the shore. Unfortunately they're too huge and too fragile to make the move to tonight's dinner table. The green/brown ones are the very best.

Further along, we find a clutch of Godzilla Eggs. Also best not to mess with Godzilla Eggs.

Fossilized Godzilla Poo.

Who's first to the finish line?

A Mothra Egg.

The sentient Green Stuff that guards all Eggs.

Boring!! Eggs are Boring!!

Quack quack quack quack quack.

This foamy chocolatey soup rides in with the rising tide.

The Green Stuff provides nourishment to the Eggs with this bubbly mix of milk chocolate.

Godzilla awakes.

A chorus of characters arises - to sing gentle songs to the awakening beast.

A small partridge wants to join the sing a long.

Ella is angered by all the attention to Godzilla and just wants to continue her sheltic beach runs.

A touch of colour at last light.
